Paul A. Bishop, 79, of Northfield Road, Hinsdale died at home Wednesday morning July 25 following a brief illness. He was born in East Charleston, NH on June 16, 1922 the son of Charles and Cora (McNamara) Bishop. Mr. Bishop was a veteran of World War II from 1941-1945 having served on the LST '' Grey Ghost'' in the Pacific. He was a machinist employed by Fellows Gear Shops in Springfield, VT until 1956. The family moved to Brattleboro in 1957 and he was employed by Dunham Bros. He coached the Dunham Bros. fast-pitch softball team to the VT championship in the early 70's. He was then employed by the Hinsdale School System as a custodian until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Bishop was predeceased by his wife Viola (Rabideau) Bishop in July 2000. He is survived by; two daughters, Sharon Davis of Hinsdale and Paula Hodge of West Swanzey; one son, Clay Bishop of Hinsdale; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a brother, Ralph Bishop of Springfield, VT. There will be no calling hours.
