Paul E. Bois, 91, of Sun City, CA died May 31, 2016 at his home.
Born in Manchester, NH on November 9, 1924, the son of Attorney Thomas J. Bois and Harriet (Wurtele) Bois. He resided in Manchester most of his life.
Mr. Bois attended schools in Manchester, NH, Boston, MA and New York.
During World War II he served in the Infantry with the 69th and 78th Infantry Divisions and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and was among the first infantrymen to cross the Rhine River over the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen, Germany early in the morning on March 8, 1945.
He also saw service with the 7th Infantry Division in Korea from April 1951 to April 1952.
He was the recipient of three Bronze Stars, a Presidential Unit Citation for action on the Rhine River, the Combat Infantry Bridge (twice) and several other medals.
He was employed as an insurance claim representative in Florida and New Hampshire.
He also served as a Cub Master and Assistant Scout Master.
His family includes his wife, Claire Stuart Bois, a daughter, Paula Bois both of Sun City, CA, two sons, Attorney Thomas J. Bois of Irvine, CA and Christopher S. Bois of Florida and two grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. After cremation, his urn will be placed in the columbarium at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at the convenience of the family.
The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is handling arrangements.
