Paul Carr Duffy, Jr. a resident of Hudson, NH since 1979, died August 31, 2024, at Community Hospice in Merrimack, NH, of lymphoma. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, December 7, 1938, to Eloise MacKinnon and Paul C. Duffy, Sr. Paul was a 1957 graduate of Quincy High School.
Paul enlisted in the US Navy in March 1959, and served as an E-5 Aviation Machinist’s Mate on the Navy aircraft carrier U.S.S. Yorktown (CVS 10) in a helicopter anti-submarine squadron, and was honorably discharged in 1963.
In September 1967, Paul was married to Catherine (Kathleen) Kealy, of County Galway, Ireland, who survives him. Paul was employed as a mechanic with United Parcel Service for 37 years before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Nascar, motorcycles, corvettes, the Legion Post 48 in Hudson, NH, cruises and trips to Ireland.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, a brother Bruce, and an infant daughter Colleen. Surviving family members include his wife of 57 years, Mary Catherine Duffy of Hudson, NH and a sister Ann Leary of Quincy, MA, and four children: Ann Marie (Chris) Droznick and Sean (Heather) Duffy of Hudson, NH. Kathleen Duffy of Austin, Texas, and Paul J. Duffy of NJ. Additionally, eight grandchildren Kealy, Hannah, Joel, Olivia and Samuel Droznick, Joshua and Jack Duffy, all of Hudson, and Polly Park-Duffy of Hoboken, New Jersey. Paul is also survived by other various nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Consistent with his wishes there will be no open funeral services. Those wishing to recognize Paul’s passing please consider a charitable contribution to Community Hospice of Merrimack, NH, the American Legion Post 48 in Hudson, NH or another charity of your choice.
