Paul A. Gagnon, 84, of Nashua died December 6, 2004 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Jaffrey following a lengthy illness. Mr. Gagnon was born on November 19, 1920 in Nashua, the son of the late Albert A. and Augustine (Moquin) Gagnon. He graduated form Nashua High School in 1939. He was a US Navy veteran who was assigned to the Marines during World War II. He was part of the Seabees Construction Battalion who built the 29 airfields on the Island of Okinawa. Mr. Gagnon worked as a railroad engineer for Boston and Maine Railroad for 41 years. He was an avid fisherman who made his own poles and tied his own flies. In his spare time he enjoyed carpentry work. Mr. Gagnon was a well accomplished gourmet cook and was well known for his pies. Family members include; his wife of 32 years, Jacqueline (Sprague) Gagnon; two sons, Wayne Gagnon and his wife, Ann of Keene and Jay Gagnon of Manchester; one daughter, Pamela Gagnon of Manchester; two grandchildren, Karleen Gagnon Tolman of Keene and Justin Gagnon of Keene; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and Edward Gagnon and by three sisters, Helene Gagnon, Laura Gagnon Dufour and Mina Gagnon Caron. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, December 10th at 6:00 PM at Church of Christ located on 97 Farley Road in Nashua. Burial will take place at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen.
