Paul E. Hood

Paul Eugene Hood of Conway, NH died on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 66 after a long battle with cancer. Born on December 28, 1958, in Great Barrington, MA, and was raised in Otis, MA.

After graduating from High School in the class of 1977, He traveled all over New England post-graduation and settled in Boston to work in the Hotel and restaurant business, managing front end operations for many venues, the most memorable being the Back Bay Hilton and Ambrosia on Huntington, both in Boston. He moved to Carroll County in the early 2000's where he worked at the Wolfeboro Inn and moved to Conway in 2015 where he put his skills to work in such venues as the Green Granite, the Grand Summit Hotel at Attitash and the Yankee Clipper.

Paul had a magical smile and made everyone smile along with him. He loved his dogs and cats, antiquing, designing, and making art and landscape design, a creative soul who loved music and played the guitar and keyboard.

He was an absolute gem of a person, full of life, love, laughter, curiosity, integrity, and joy.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, Howard and Marie Hood of Otis, MA.

He is survived by his husband, Michael Rego of Conway, NH, and their dog Salvador, his brothers, Joseph Hood of Housatonic, MA, Ronald Hood of Carthage, NC and his brother, Jonathan Hood of Cape Coral, FL. As the funny uncle he will be missed by his nephew, David Hood and his niece, Crystal Hood.

In honor of Paul's wishes there will be no funeral service. Please celebrate his memory in your own ways. Paul was a great lover of animals so donations in his memory to the NHSPCA or any animal organization are welcome.
