IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul D.
Johnson Sr.
March 11, 1963 – February 16, 2026
Paul D. Johnson, Sr., 62, of Raymond—lovingly known as PJ and Pappy—passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 11, 1963, in Lewistown, PA, Paul was the beloved son of Otto and Alice (Orner) Johnson.
After graduating from Lewistown High School, Paul proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. He served as a Navy Fireman aboard the USS Carl Vinson, carrying out his duties with quiet dedication and deep pride in serving his country, a chapter he always held close to his heart.
After completing his military service, Paul made his home in New Hampshire, where he began his career with Ace Welding. There he found his calling in the propane industry, dedicating more than 35 years as a trusted and highly skilled service technician with Petrolane, Suburban Propane, and AmeriGas. He was known for his reliability, skill, and good humor.
Paul had a deep love of country music and could often be found tinkering in his garage or working on a home project. He took great joy in grilling—especially for friends and family—and was a dependable handyman who took pride in helping those he cared about. His warmth, generosity, and easy smile made him a friend to many and a comforting presence to all who loved him.
Paul is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend, Shawna Daley of Concord; their children: Paul Jr. and his wife, Caitlin (Chauvette) Johnson, and their daughters, Rose and Evelyn Johnson of Manchester; Kimberly MacDonald and her partner, Anthony Blake, and her sons, Liam and David MacDonald of Raymond; and Stephanie Heath and her husband, Daniel, and their children, Madelyn Marte, Christopher and Jacob Heath of Manchester. He also leaves behind his parents, Otto and Alice Johnson; his sister, Rose Hower; his twin sister, Paula Moore; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his close friends Debra Phillips, Bob Martel, Eric Hansen and the many others whose lives he touched.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Thursday, February 26th, 2026, from 1pm to 3pm at Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street in Boscawen, followed by graveside service at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, to honor Paul’s life and service.
