Nashua, NH - Paul Everett Norwood, 89, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away after a brief illness on October 14, 2004 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born in Lowell, the son of the late Ralph and Pauline (Reed) Norwood. Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years as a mechanic for New England Telephone Company and was an honorary member of IBEW Local Union 2321. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II stationed in the Philippine Islands. He had also worked for the former Lowell Motor Sales and was a school bus driver for the Chelmsford School System for almost two decades. After his retirement, he continued to work for Commonwealth Thomas, Inc. Mr. Norwood was an avid model train hobbyist and he also enjoyed reading, golf and walks with his dog.Ginger. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Doris (Prud’homme) (Boley) Norwood and nine children, Judith Rondeau of Worcester, R. James Norwood of Clinton, WA, Paula and Terence Murphy of Dracut, Kathleen (Boley) Frechette of Lowell, Linda (Boley) and Paul Linehan of Auburn, NH, Pamela (Boley) and Robert Simard of Chelmsford, Anita (Boley) and Rigoberto Santiago of Lowell, Leonard and Mary Boley of Lynnwood, WA and Christopher and Dareath Norwood of Palmdale, CA; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by very close family friends, Bryan and Diane Shaw of Chelmsford. Mr. Norwood was the brother of the late Ruth (Norwood) Bergholm and was the former husband of the late Hazel (Dyment) Norwood. There will be a memorial service on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 9:00 AM at St. John’s the Evangelist Church located at 115 Middlesex St., North Chelmsford, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Paul’s memory to either the Nashua Home Health & Hospice Care or the Humane Society of New England.
