Paul R. Ryder, aged 74, of New Boston, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 8, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut, Paul lived a life distinguished by his many accomplishments, a deep devotion to family, and a deep commitment to serving others.

Paul’s love for music, especially his lifelong admiration for John Lennon and The Beatles, was a source of great joy. He found solace and inspiration in the natural world, whether biking, hiking, kayaking, or backpacking. Paul was also a dedicated fan of the UCONN Women’s Huskies basketball team, enthusiastically sharing his passion with family and friends.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Paul took immense pride in his family, finding his greatest joy in their achievements. His dedication was unwavering as he attended his grandchildren’s sports games and music performances with steadfast support. Summers spent with his beloved wife, Maureen, and their family in Cape Neddick, Maine, were among his most cherished memories.

Paul’s commitment to philanthropy and civic duty was evident throughout his life. Paul was a longtime volunteer for Boy Scouts of America, serving as a leader, council member and treasurer in both Connecticut and New Hampshire. He was also a proud Rotarian, dedicated member of the New Boston, NH School Board, and a Sunday school teacher at First Congregational Church in Guilford, Connecticut. His dedication and generosity left an indelible mark on his community.

Paul graduated from North Branford High School in 1968, later earning a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1972, where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He went on to complete a Master of Science from RPI in 1973. Paul enjoyed a highly successful 27-year career in corporate investor relations, primarily with Echlin, Inc. in Branford, Connecticut. Later, he pursued a second career in education, teaching mathematics at Memorial High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, for 14 fulfilling years before retiring in 2017.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maureen Ryder of New Boston, NH; his children, Victoria (Tori) Ryder and her husband Mike DeCristoforo of New Boston, NH, and Matthew Ryder and his wife Ariel Carey of Southbury, CT; and his cherished grandchildren, Carly Gilman, Cole Gilman, and Waylon Ryder.
