Paula Knutson passed away peacefully Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH. Paula was the daughter of the late Walter and Jeanette (Bujnowski) Tuniewicz. She was born March 28, 1945 in Lowell, MA. and attended Nursing school at St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Lowell, MA and St Anselm College in Manchester, NH. She raised her only son as a single mother in Salem, MA and Hudson, NH, later settling down in Madison, WI. During her career as a Registered Nurse, she specialized in Psychiatric, Oncology, and Cardiac Nursing as well as worked as a labor representative in the Nurses' Union in Madison. Earlier in life she worked as a Boy Scout Camp Nurse and became involved on a volunteer basis with the Boy Scout Troop 11 in Madison, WI. Later in life she retired in Nashua, NH to be closer to family.
Paula was a beloved mother and will be missed by her only son, Robert Vienneau. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Marie) Tuniewicz of Southbridge, MA. She was predeceased by her sister Janice Graichen (Tuniewicz) and brother Anthony Richard Tuniewicz. She is also survived by her nieces Catherine, Edith, Sharon, Sandra, Sarah, and Rachel, and nephews Mark and John as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her faithful canine companion, Jackie, will miss her terribly and all of her friends and family will miss her offbeat and eccentric sense of humor and unique outlook on life.
A Memorial in her honor will be held at the Community Room of her former residence, 165 Pine St., Nashua, NH on Sunday, March 25 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paula's name to the Humane Society for the Greater Nashua Area, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH, www.hsfn.org.
