Paulina “Polly” (Hackett) Robinson, of Amherst, NH, Mashpee, MA and Saratoga Springs, NY, passed peacefully on July 10th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 28th, 1939, in Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of Harold and Pauline (Cassarino) Hackett.
Polly was a graduate of Nashua High School where she was a member of the Cheerleading squad. She later attended Plymouth State University and the University of New Hampshire, where she earned both a BA and MA in Education. It was while at UNH as an undergrad, that she met her future husband, Milton “Bud” Robinson.
Polly and Bud traveled for several years while Bud was serving as an officer and pilot in the Air Force. They would eventually settle in Amherst, NH, where Polly would have a career with the Amherst School District, teaching 4th and 5th grades for over 30 years. Polly also served for many years as the director of the Periwinkle Club, a summer youth program, run by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, in Woods Hole, MA. She also served as the President of her local AEA Teachers Union.
Polly would spend her summers at Newfound Lake, NH and Cape Cod, MA. Once she retired, she and Bud enjoyed traveling to many locations around the world and would winter in Marco Island, FL. Polly was always an avid golfer and gardener. She was also a lifelong New England Patriots fan and enjoyed attending the Horse Races in Saratoga Springs.
Polly was proceeded by Bud in 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela L. Daly (John) of Saratoga Springs, NY, and her son, Milton G. Robinson III (Jayma) of Mont Vernon, NH. Grandchildren: Kirby Daly, Madison Daly (Justin Chaffe-Standish), Ellie Daly, McKenzie Robinson Behn (Caelan), Garrett Robinson and Lucy Daly. And sisters: Carol McKinney (Phil) and Marilyn Barry (Jay).
Polly will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a fun nana, and a caring friend.
Polly’s family will be having a private Celebration of Life followed by a burial at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Beaver Lake Lodge Assisted Living facility 38 N Shore Rd, Derry, NH 03038, in appreciation for all the wonderful care the staff provided to Polly in her final years.
