Peggy Jewett Powell, of New Boston, New Hampshire, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, succumbing to her 7-year fight against multiple-myeloma.  Peggy was born on March 18, 1949, to Edgar and Mary Jewett in Manchester, New Hampshire. She grew up in Conway, NH, was a graduate of Kennett High School (1967) and studied 1 year at the University of New Hampshire before marrying her first husband, Clinton A. Inglee. Over several years, Peggy raised two sons while living in South Bend, Indiana, Willingboro, NJ and Englishtown, NJ, before moving to Bedford, New Hampshire in the summer of 1988.

 

Peggy worked as a personal Banker at NH Bank, as a fundraiser in the Alumni Office at St Anselm College, and for St. Mary’s Bank where she served as the first Executive Director of America's Credit Union Museum. Her 15-year tenure was marked by unparalleled dedication and visionary leadership. Peggy played an instrumental role in the museum's development, guiding its evolution with passion and unwavering commitment

 

Peggy married Richrd Powell in 2001, residing in New Boston, New Hampshire until her passing.

She had many interests throughout her life; she loved gardening and was an avid reader of mystery novels and absolutely loved spending time at the seashore to relax and enjoy the soothing sounds of the ocean and smell of the saltwater air.

 

Peggy is survived by her husband Richard Powell, her sister Lee Williams of Elliot, Maine, her brother Craig Jewett and wife Brenda, of Woodsville, NH, her daughter in-law Janette Byerly Inglee of Robbinsville, NJ; her son James and his wife Christine Inglee of Raymond, NH, step-daughter Jennifer Dupre and husband Michael Dupre of Manchester, NH, step-daughter Catherine Brady and husband Christopher Brady and nine grandchildren Aaron Inglee, Reagan Inglee, Michael Dupre Jr, Nathan Dupre, Abigail Brady, Meghan Brady, Carter D, Inglee, Kendall A. Inglee and Kelsea A. Inglee. Peggy is pre-deceased by her oldest son, Clinton G. Inglee (1968 – 2019).

 

A private burial at sea will be held with her immediate family.
