Perley C. Welch, 88, of Upper East Road in Cornish Flat died peacefully at his home on June 27, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Welch was born on April 28, 1914 in Greenfield, MA the son of the late Leander and Josephine (Lapet) Welch. He was a farmer for most of his life in Cornish Flat and drove a school bus locally for 17 years. Perley love to fish and hunt. Family members include; his wife of 27 years, Lula (Jones) Welch; two stepdaughters, Norma Locke of Cornish Flat and Gloria Fecteau of Claremont; five step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; three half brothers, Roy Welch of Colorado Springs, CO, Kenneth Welch of N. Edwards, CA and Donald Welch of Springfield, MA; and a half sister, Shirley Carr of Claremont. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth, in 1970; and by two step sons Ralph Fecteau Jr. and Roy Fecteau. He was also predeceased by a brother, Ralph Welch; and three sisters, Viola Welch, Gladys Welch and Rachel Welch. A graveside service will be he at The Childs Cemetery in Cornish Flat in early July.
