Peter Thomas Kashulines, 89, died at 3am on Wednesday 30 July 2025, at the Epsom Care Facility under the loving care of the Amedisys Hospice Services of Bedford in Epsom, NH. Peter was a true charmer and he always had accolades about the facility and the health care they provided. He was born on 31 August 1935, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH; the son of Albert J. Kashulines and Celestine (nee Girouard) Kashulines.
His youth was spent working on the family farm at 175 Lowell Rd. Hudson, NH which is now the heart of Countrybrook Farms. Peter attended Alvirne High School, Hudson NH.
Peter enlisted in the Marine Corp and served 6 years. His first year of service overlapped with the ending of the Korean War. He was stationed in the Pacific Theater during this time. The remaining years were at various other posts throughout the USA.
After being honorably discharged from the USMC, he primarily worked at his own businesses with a focus on mechanical construction under federal contracts. Many family members, nieces, and nephews, young and old, worked with him during his near 65 years of working life. Many work stories have been told, some memorable and cherished, some better forgotten, and with forgiveness hopefully given.
Peter wasn’t afraid to delve into most anything, whether trained or bluffed. Some examples include hosting parties on Rex Rd or Cobbetts Pond, constantly modifying his house, fixing vehicles like MacGyver, cannon blasting, bee keeping, dog and leopard training, cliff diving, gardening, snorkeling, hunting, fishing, and private piloting (this was the rare instance where he admitted it was too much risk for his personality). The Pelham American Legion Post 100 always supported him through the years, and he is forever grateful.
Peter is predeceased by his son Billy; brothers, Albert, and Robert (Bud); Sisters, Rita, Arlene, Helen, Antoinette, and Diane.
Surviving Pete are his first wife, Marie Mento, the mother of his surviving children and the late Billy; his children Heather Weis (husband John), Tracy Ferrari (husband Steve), Lisa Schubbel (husband Fred), and Peter Kashulines Jr. (wife Ruth); grandkids, Marshall, Lynn, Jacqualyn, Christina, William, Malyssa, Deeana, Jericho and Leah; great-grandkids, Alyssa, Adrianna, Johnny, Ella, Kyle, Liam, Konnor, Nicholas, Evelyn, Maddie, Olivia, and Lucas; along with many nieces, nephews, and their children, whom are too numerous to name for fear of forgetting anyone.
Peter is also survived by former wife Katherine Irwin of Pelham, NH, who was his business and life partner for almost 40 years, then and his primary caretaker at the end.
A gathering/remembrance with friends and family is being planned by his son, Peter Kashulines Jr, in the Windham/Pelham/Hudson area in late August or September. Details will be shared on the Cremation Society of NH obituary website once they have been finalized.
Donations can be made in Peter’s memory to the Pelham NH American Legion Post 100. No flowers please. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester. To view Peter's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com.
