Peter L. Powers, Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, at the Riverwoods Retirement Community in Manchester, NH at age 91.

Peter was born on October 31, 1934, in Waltham, MA, to Stanely & Grace Powers. He attended Dartmouth College and married the love of his life, Constance (Bryant) Powers in December 1956 and graduated in May 1957. He earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army and served as an intelligence officer in Germany. After his Army service, he had a long career with Esso (now Exxon-Mobil) and retired early at age 56. Eventually, he and Connie sold their house in Connecticut and built their dream retirement house on top of the hill in Hopkinton, NH. They loved sitting in their breakfast nook, drinking coffee in the mornings and pointing out the wildlife and various mountains in the distance. He was a charter member of the Hopkinton Rotary Club and became District Governor in 2003. Peter and Connie loved traveling, and they had many family camping trips including a month-long cross-country trip in the summer of 1976. They travelled extensively in retirement; domestically and internationally. He also loved choral singing in college and in retirement he sang with the choir at the First Congregational Church and a regional men’s choir, the Barnstormers.

Peter and Connie were married for 62 years, they had four children, Janet, Nancy, Peter (Jr.) and Mark and blessed with twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by Connie and daughter Nancy.
