Listen to Obituary

Peter S. Vitello Jr., 67, entered into the presence of Jesus on December 27, 2025. He passed away peacefully at his home in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Peter was born on October 16, 1958, in Hollywood, Florida. He was the son of Rosalie (Clark) Vitello and Peter S. Vitello Sr.

Peter graduated from Athol High School in Athol, Massachusetts, in 1977. He went on to pursue theological education, earning an Associate Degree in Pastoral Ministry, a Bachelor’s of Ministry, and later a Master of Biblical Studies, a PhD in Pastoral Ministry, and a Doctorate of Theology.

Peter completed his pastoral ministry internship at Bethel Assembly of God in Melbourne, Florida. He began his ministry as a youth pastor at Calvary Assembly of God in Jaffrey, NH, and later served as Associate Pastor and Interim Senior Pastor at Jaffrey Bible Church. He then went on to serve faithfully for 25 years as Senior Pastor of Good News Bible Church in Wilton, NH. In addition to his local ministry, Peter spoke at various Christian conferences throughout New England.

During his early years of college and ministry, Peter also worked in several manufacturing roles, including as a machinist and shipping and receiving supervisor. He was employed by local companies including Magnus High Tech, Starrett Tools, New Hampshire Ball Bearing, and W.W. Cross.

Peter is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 45 years, Tracy (Cutler) Vitello; his son Jonathan Vitello and wife Sarah (Pomerleau) of Jaffrey, NH, and their children Janelle, Ethan, Emryn, and Riley; his son Jared Vitello and wife Alicia (Sandoval) of Jaffrey, NH, and their daughters Adah and Elyn; and his daughter Leah (Vitello) Kinnunen and husband Jeremy of New Ipswich, NH, and their son Kairo.

He is also survived by his stepmother Rachel Vitello of Orange City, FL and his sisters Darlene (Vitello) Gamache and husband Gary of Orange, MA; Lorraine (Vitello) Boudreau and husband Dean of Athol, MA; Gina (Vitello) Grout and husband David of New Salem, MA; and Karinne Wiggins of Binghamton, NY; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by his father, Peter S. Vitello Sr.; his mother, Rosalie (Clark) Boudreau; and his stepfather, Ernest Boudreau.

Peter and Tracy loved riding together and exploring the scenic byways and back roads of New England, especially in their convertible. Peter took great joy in his family and was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with them, taking them out to eat (especially to Kimball’s), bowling, and enjoying F1 go-kart racing together. He made it a priority to be present in their lives and could always be found proudly attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Peter also enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, and playing golf with close friends. Above all, he had a deep passion for preaching the Word of God, discipling men, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he met.

A celebration of life service will be held at Jaffrey Bible Church on Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 a.m. The church is located at 133 Turnpike Road, Jaffrey, New Hampshire 03452.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to Tree of Hope Haiti (https://treeofhopehaiti.org/give), a ministry founded by Peter’s niece, Angela (Boudreau) Parayson, and her husband, Gamaniel. The ministry is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing housing, food, and education to rural communities in Haiti.
