The Honorable Philip A. Benoit, born June 18, 1948, passed away July 28th, 2022 at Jackson Memorial Hospital from natural causes, at the age of 74. Benoit is survived by his three children Stephanie and Eli Benoit, Abigail Corbit (Benoit), son in law Alexander Corbit, and grandson Gage Ross. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved and was inseparable from his two Border Terriers “Picasso & Ivy”.
Benoit had many achievements; he graduated from St. Anselm's College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and diploma in Education, Benoit served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart before starting his 36-year career with the U.S. Postal Service. Benoit was postmaster of both Goffstown, New Hampshire, and Key West, Florida.
Benoit suffered from a genetic disease, Polycystic Kidneys was the recipient of a Kidney a very successful transplant 4 years ago. He had several nicknames that fit him perfectly; “Filter & Postal”. His personality was infectious, his generosity was above and beyond, his wit, never ending humor, and his love for schmoozing people with his homemade pies will be greatly missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in New Hampshire and then Key West, where his final resting place will be-per his request his ashes will be spread out at the sandbar - “Boca Grand”.
In lieu of flowers for the upcoming Celebration of life we ask that donations be made to The National Kidney Association or The Florida Keys, SPCA.
Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester.
