Philip Joseph
Rysanek
February 4, 1940 – April 29, 2026
Philip Joseph Rysanek was born on February 4, 1940 in Bayshore, New York to Louise (Kouril) Rysanek and Vincent Rysanek. He is predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Suzanne (Myavec) Rysanek, his parents, and his two older brothers, Vincent and Allan Rysanek. Philip is survived by his younger brother, Jon Rysanek, and his wife, Charlotte, of California; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Peter Cline of New Hampshire; and his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rick Bayless of Nevada. Philip is also survived by grandchildren Harrison Cline, Isobel Cline, Olivia Cline, Quinn Bayless and his children, Austin Bayless and his wife, Julia, Rachel Davis, her husband, Blake, and their children, and Luke Mitchell.
After proudly serving as a munitions specialist in the United States Air Force, Philip worked for many years as an electrical engineer for several large defense corporations, beginning his career at Northrop Grumman in New York and ending it at BAE Systems in New Hampshire. Philip and Suzanne made their family home in Amherst, New Hampshire for many years before moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida after their retirement. Ultimately, they longed to be back in New Hampshire, closer to family and friends, and resettled in the heart of Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, where they spent many happy years engaged in the community there. After a move to Reno, Nevada in 2018 to be near family there, Philip returned to New Hampshire upon Suzanne’s death in 2023. In the final year of his life, Philip resided at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, New Hampshire, where he received excellent, compassionate care.
Philip’s family would like him to be remembered for all that he was - a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather; an engaged community member, always willing to lend a hand; an industrious problem-solver, project executor, and tinkerer; and a man of intellectual curiosity and spiritual contemplation. He deeply loved his family, friends, and communities, and there was a time that was felt by all who knew and loved him.
Philip’s family will be planning a memorial celebration of his life later this summer in New Hampshire.
