Phyllis Jean (Shields) Green, 85, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire of natural causes.
She was born on August 21st in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Doris (Shields) Riley and was raised by her loving grandparents Barney and Gertrude Shields. She often bragged that she had her grandfather wrapped around her finger and grew up very loved and spoiled.
She became a nursing assistant, then a medication assistant, and eventually a therapy aide. Her work mainly took place in nursing homes, but she retired as an in-home private duty aide. She raised four strong-willed children on her own and helped raise some of her grandchildren as well. She moved around a lot at times, but always returned to Kansas until she moved to New Hampshire in 2005. She remarried James R Green in 2010 but remained living in New Hampshire with her granddaughter. She was a proud Christian and member of The World Wide Church of God.
She was predeceased by a son Danny Green and a daughter Debbie Green. Survived by her husband James R Green, sons Dennis (Nancy) Green, Duane (Teresa) Green, brother Richard (Ginger) Riley, grandchildren, Michelle, Sal, Maymee, Phillip, Tony, Sheila, Deanna, Maggie, Rick, Jordon, Tabitha, and Russell, as well as 22 great grandchildren including Preston, Ty, Elliot, and Katalina. She is also leaving behind several cousins and a large extended family.
SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Calvary Chapel Fellowship in Wichita, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 9:30am, Saturday June 16, 2018 at the United Baptist Church in Concord, New Hampshire.
