Phyllis B. Prunier

Phyllis B. Prunier, of Manchester, died September 13, 2009 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health. She was born December 8, 1918 in Dracut, MA, the daughter of the late Valeda Lessard and Leo Goodhue. After spending most of her life in Nashua, she resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Manchester. Phyllis had been employed at the LaSalle Shoe Shop, Nashua Manufacturing, and then retired from Hampshire Manufacturing after 20 years of service. She was a former parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Nashua for more than 70 years and currently of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Manchester. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Ladies of St. Anne, Ladies Guild and CWVA Post #1402 and a member of the CWVA Father Ramsey Post #1624. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice A. Prunier (after a loving marriage of 66 years); son, Richard M. Prunier; three brothers, Richard, Arthur, and Edmund Goodhue, and two sisters, Doris Latvis and Lillian Brooks. She is survived by three children, Paul A. Prunier and his wife, Cathi of Stoddard, NH, Janet Leduc and her husband, Edward Sr. of Manchester, and David Prunier and his wife, Hazel of Nashua; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Irene Prunier of Milford. She was the proud grandmother of Roger Prunier of Virginia, Christine Prunier of South Berwick, Maine, Michelle Curtis of Sunapee, Anne-Marie Prunier of Milford, Jon Prunier of Boston, MA, David Prunier of Merrimack, Daniel McCarthy, Jr. of Nashua; Scott Prunier of Nashua, and James Prunier of Nashua; 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, was known for her great cooking and hosting of family meals. Her smile, humor, and hugs will be greatly missed. A private memorial service will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Manchester. Private burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Nashua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice House 210 Naticook Road Merrimack, NH 03054.
