Priscilla H. Hansen, 88, of Nashua NH passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at her home. She was born on May 13, 1929 in Milford, MA, the red headed daughter of Beatrice and William H. Hartwell. She was the wife of Jack T. Hansen. They were married for 41 years. She grew up in Durham NH, and loved the New England Seacoast, particularly Nubble Light.
She attended Northfield School for Girls and the University of New Hampshire, graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her first teaching job was in Albuquerque, NM where she met her husband. Together they had six children. She was very creative, involved in many crafts projects and had an appreciation for various types of art throughout her life. She created wonderful scrap and photo books for her children and grandchildren, documenting special occasions, places, and family history. She was a beautiful seamstress and taught many to sew. She loved flowers, sparkly jewelry and collectables, and was widely traveled. She was active in many organizations include PTA, Women's Clubs, Bridge Clubs and helped to create a Collectors Club for Department 56 in Rockford, IL. Late in life, she published a children's book, Forever Friends, about the importance of friendship throughout one's life- a reflection of all of her treasured friendships.
She lived in several states across the country, always remaining an avid fan of the New England Teams - Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots.
She is predeceased by her husband, Jack, and son, Todd. She is survived by her brother, George Hartwell of Waverly, OH; her children, Leigh Hansen of Northwood, NH; Lorrie Ambrose of Strafford,NH; Jay Hansen of Hainesport, NJ; Jill Hansen of Nashua, NH; Brock Hansen of Sanford, FL; and 11 cherished grandchildren. Jim Champagne of Maine was a dear friend over several years.
A celebration of her life will be held this summer at the family cabin on Bow Lake in Strafford, NH.
