Ralph "Larry" Marcus

Ralph L. “Larry” Marcus, 74, of Goffstown, passed away peacefully in his home on November 11, 2021 with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Laura (Wright) Marcus with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Larry, affectionately known as “Bop”, adored his family and the time spent with them. He was an incredibly avid fisherman, sharing this passion with his daughter, Lisa, and was the President of the White Mountain Bass Club for many years. He also enjoyed sitting on his deck watching his birds and woodworking in his spare time. He retired from the United States Navy after 25 years of service and began working as the Fleet Manager for Easterseals, often being the one to call for a broken-down car. Bop was a simple man of great pleasures and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his loving wife Laura, Larry is survived by his daughter Lisa Ludwigsen of Manchester, grandsons, Jacob Marcus of Goffstown and Seth Ludwigsen of Manchester, siblings; Gary Marcus of Keene, Chuck Dodge of Berlin, Eloise (Nicole) Marcus of California, and Dorothy Wheeler of Athol, MA and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Roberta Marcus and son in law Erik Ludwigsen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 18th from 5-7pm at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A Memorial Service will follow at 7pm in the funeral home. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:30pm at The New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Sweeney Post #2, American Legion or Easterseals – Special Transit Services.

Laura, Lisa and family,
My most heartfelt condolences to you all. Losing Larry is a significant loss for me and I know "beyond words" for the family. As I look back at the long working relationship that Larry and I had, I feel fortunate for the many years we had together and to have called Larry my friend. He was a loyal and dedicated employee for easterseals with a work ethic second to none. He was a skilled manager who worked tirelessly to advocate for his staff, worked long hours and never complained. He was a big part of helping easterseals expand our transportation operation, becoming the largest special needs transportation provider in NH. He was never afraid to take on challenges and new work. The skills he demonstrated during his tenure as Fleet Manager was recognized by our oversight agencies as outstanding and he was always relied upon as a knowledgeable source for vehicle evaluation and care. Larry provided support to the NH Department of Transportation by going to bus manufacturing plants to assure state specifications were followed.
Larry was a transportation professional, who loved his partner and wife Laura, his daughter Lisa and his grandchildren Jake and Seth beyond words.
Some of our work together included trips together to NYC and we always traveled and stayed together, we had some great times together and enjoyed following the mantra, "work hard, play hard". We respected each other and this made for a outstanding partnership that I will always remember and value.
