Ralph L. “Larry” Marcus, 74, of Goffstown, passed away peacefully in his home on November 11, 2021 with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Laura (Wright) Marcus with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Larry, affectionately known as “Bop”, adored his family and the time spent with them. He was an incredibly avid fisherman, sharing this passion with his daughter, Lisa, and was the President of the White Mountain Bass Club for many years. He also enjoyed sitting on his deck watching his birds and woodworking in his spare time. He retired from the United States Navy after 25 years of service and began working as the Fleet Manager for Easterseals, often being the one to call for a broken-down car. Bop was a simple man of great pleasures and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his loving wife Laura, Larry is survived by his daughter Lisa Ludwigsen of Manchester, grandsons, Jacob Marcus of Goffstown and Seth Ludwigsen of Manchester, siblings; Gary Marcus of Keene, Chuck Dodge of Berlin, Eloise (Nicole) Marcus of California, and Dorothy Wheeler of Athol, MA and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Roberta Marcus and son in law Erik Ludwigsen.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 18th from 5-7pm at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A Memorial Service will follow at 7pm in the funeral home. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:30pm at The New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Sweeney Post #2, American Legion or Easterseals – Special Transit Services.
