Mr. Ralph Joseph Morgan passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, at age 80 on October 17, 2018 in Pepperell, Massachusetts.
Born on November 23, 1937 in Somerville, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Adeline Morgan and the late Herman Morgan. Ralph was a proud American who served in the US Army. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. After growing up in Somerville, MA he moved to Martha's Vineyard where he owned and operated a Mobile gas station with his brother Jesse. He later worked at West End Iron Works in Cambridge, MA before moving to Pepperell, MA. Before retiring he was a manager at Sanders Corporation where he developed a cost saving wiring harness. He could build anything he put his mind to. He loved renovating his home and working on his cars. There was no project too small or too large that he wouldn't tackle.
He was always there to help those in need. Even when he had nothing to give, he would reach deep down and find a way. He was an example of what 'Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself' truly meant. His door and table were always open. He was a fighter and tough as nails, but had a heart of gold. His advice, jokes, stories, his presence and love for his family will be sorely missed.
Ralph's spouse was the late Evelyn Morgan. He is survived by Flora Morgan, his wife of 36 years and dedicated caretaker. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Morgan and his wife Anna Morgan, and his sister, Phyllis Lacorti and her husband Joe Lacorti. The most loving father, Ralph is survived by his children, Michael Thielbar and wife Patti Demont of Arlington, MA, Joseph Morgan of Lakeland, FL, Valerie Moore and her husband Thomas Moore of Ashby, MA, Kenneth Morgan and his wife Mary Morgan of Pepperell, MA, Christopher Thielbar of Pepperell, MA, Rebecca Thielbar and husband Steve Padalino of Aptos, CA, Curtis Thielbar of Portland, CT, Stephanie Wells of Dorchester, MA and his adopted son, Dennis Williams of Weaver, AL. He was a doting Grampa to twenty grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with another one on the way. Ralph was loved by many nieces and nephews, godchildren, friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate in Ralph's name to Habitat for Humanity at www.habitat.org/support/honor-memorial-gifts.
