Ralph J. Picard , 83, of Lilac Lane died suddenly January 10, 2001. Mr. Picard was born March 22, 1917 in Marlborough, MA the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Emily) Picard. A decorated World War II Veteran, Mr. Picard served in the US Army in the European Theatre. After the war, he operated heavy equipment for various contractors in Franklin and Portsmouth. Mr. Picard resided in St. Petesburg, Florida for 27 years before moving to Franklin in 1999. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Sargent) Picard and two sons, Ralph ''Butch'' Picard and Randall Picard. The family includes; his loving companion, Lucille Gherke; two daughters, Bonnie Picard of Tampa, FL and Janis Picard-Noyes of Sanbornton, NH; eight grandchildren and one great grandson. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at 11:00 AM at NH State Veterans Cemetery, Route 3 North, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, The Highlands, Tilton, NH 03276.
