Rand "Randy" Thompson
Rand Adams Thompson, long time Dover, New Hampshire resident, passed away at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital on November 8, 2012 at age 60. He was born in Dover on May 31, 1952, the son of Russell Earle and Georgiana (Andronopoulos) Thompson.
Known to his friends as Randy, he attended Dover Public Schools, playing basketball in both junior high and high school, and he graduated from Dover High School in 1970.
Immediately following graduation, Randy took over the operation of the family-owned Russ Thompson Motors, Inc. automobile dealership, as his father had, himself, passed away in February of that year, and he continued in the automotive sales business for his entire working career.
In September of 2011, Randy sustained severe injuries in an apartment fire, for which he received extended treatment at the Massachusetts General Hospital's Burn Center before returning to Dover.
Randy was predeceased by his father, as noted, and by his mother in 1996, and survived by brothers Ronald Russell Thompson of Virginia and Gregory Adams Thompson of Connecticut, and their children.
Bishop Peter Libasci of Manchester presided over the Interment Services.
