Randel D. Cameron, 67, lost his long fought battle with leukemia surrounded by family and friends on Friday, October 20th.
Born in Punxsutawney, PA, Randy spent his adolescent years in New Jersey and was a graduate of Bridgewater Raritan High School West. After two years of study at RCA Institute in New York City he joined the U.S. Navy. He then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
A deep interest in the financial markets propelled Randy into a successful career as a sought after investment advisor. His work brought him first to Boston and Westford, MA and then to Bedford, NH where he and his family settled for the next 27 years.
Randy was an avid sportsman with golf being at the top of his list. He was fortunate to combine business with pleasure as a member of the Manchester Country Club, serving on the finance committee and then as a board member. He also served on the board of The Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH. However, above all of his life's many accomplishments, he was most proud of and truly adored his five children and ten grandchildren. "Pop" was a magnet for the little ones as they all would fly into his arms when they came through the door.
Randy earned respect from anyone fortunate enough to have known and spent time with him. He was a role model for many who looked to him for advice and guidance. His unparalleled listening skills gave him the ability to make everyone feel valued and important. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Randy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dodie Arntz Cameron; children, Nancy Cameron and husband Toke Thatcher, Amy Cameron, Chip Cameron and wife Adrienne, Brian Cameron and wife Sarah, Katie Cameron Spires and husband Ben; sister, Patricia Elliott; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a band of kids he mentored along the way.
Randy was predeceased by his son Jason R. Cameron, parents Kenneth and Sally Cameron and brother, Kenneth R. Cameron.
Services will take place Friday October 27th at 2:00pm at St Lawrence Church, 1 E Union St. Goffstown, NH followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 3:00pm at The Manchester Country Club, 180 South River Rd. Bedford NH. In Lieu of flowers consider donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis TN (800) 822-6344 or The American Heart Assoc.
