Randy L. Deshaies

Randy L. Deshaies, 61, of Manchester passed on to Heaven on April 21, 2022. Randy is the son of Priscilla (Desilets) Deshaies and Larry G. Deshaies both of Manchester. Randy is a beloved son, father, pepere, brother, uncle and cousin as well as a revered friend to the many people whose lives he touched through his honesty, compassion, vulnerability, and his immense love of life and his music.

Randy was born in Wareham, Massachusetts on January 12, 1961. As a young child, Randy resided both in the country of Turkey as well as in Grand Prairie, Texas as his father served in the U.S. Air Force. For the remainder of his childhood, Randy grew up in Bedford, New Hampshire where he played little league; attended the local schools; made many life-long friends and began his love of music by following in his pepere's footsteps by choosing to play the trumpet. In 1979, Randy graduated from Manchester West High school then went on to the University of Virginia aspiring to become a World History teacher; sadly, he only finished two years and never chose to go back to pursue this dream which he would have been amazing at given all his knowledge about both World Wars and the Holocaust. Following college, Randy worked at several jobs as a cook and/or a food salesman; Sodexo @SNHU was his final job he held for several years as a kitchen assistant.

In his free time, Randy was mostly a “home body”; he would spend hours playing “DJ” at our computer making multiple multi-genre personal CD's which he would bring to work to share with his co-workers; make for the kid's teacher gifts; or simply give as gifts for those he loved. Randy's favorite groups/artists included KISS, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, ELO, Heart, Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra, and the Carpenters. Randy also enjoyed being an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan – cheering and/or yelling at them on TV from his recliner; he revered going to see the Red Sox at Fenway with his son a few times a year.

Family was what was important to Randy; he would attend Adam's baseball/basketball games; Carissa's choral concerts and dance recitals; Isabella's dance recitals/gymnastic classes; and all their school functions, but mostly importantly, he showed them immense love and guidance the best way he knew how. Randy also carried on his family tradition and his love of going to Cape Cod for our family vacation – this was his true where he could fully relax and be truly at peace within himself.

Randy truly loved life and loved everybody who was part of his life through the years. He indeed was a “cat with 20 lives” determined to stay here on Earth with us, but his tired body was ravaged beyond repair and could not fight any longer. Please take peace in knowing he is no longer suffering and is now free of the chains that limited him in his last months with us. Let's celebrate him and all the fond memories he bestowed upon all of us. God Bless!

Randy is predeceased by his son Patrick Randal, and his father Larry G. Deshaies.

Randy is survived by his wife of 32 years Connie (Moore) Deshaies; his daughter Carissa Deshaies; his son Adam Deshaies; and his two beautiful granddaughters, Isabella and Amara Deshaies all of Manchester.  Randy is also survived by his loving mother Priscilla Deshaies and her wife Peg of Candia; his sister Paula Deshaies of Goffstown; his step-mom Mandy Deshaies of Goffstown; and his step-sister Judy Desmarais of Manchester. In addition, Randy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Randy's funeral service will be at St. Anthony's on Belmont St. Manchester, NH on Saturday, May 21st @10:30am. Post funeral gathering will be held at the Sweeney Post on Maple St (across from Gill stadium) from 12:00pm-4:00pm.
