Raymond “Ray / Pepe” Albert Deschambault, born October 1934, passed away on February 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Biddeford Maine, he lived in Canada until he was sixteen. Ray then attended High School (St. Louis) in Biddeford, ME, class of ‘54 and Served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He moved to Bedford, New Hampshire in 1967, becoming a longtime resident for 58 years

From a young age, Ray carried a strong sense of responsibility, helping care for his parents, Zepherine Deschambault and Rose (Emma) Deschambault, and growing up alongside three brothers now deceased, Edward L Deschambault of St. Romould, PQ Canada, Robert A Deschambault, Pensacola, FL and Roland D Deschambault of Lynn, MA. One surviving Sister, Pauline (Deschambault) Shrout of Willimantic CT. Ray was married 16 years to Janine Josephine (Gaudette) Deschambault.

Ray enjoyed a long career in the electronics industry. Working on electronic radar systems for large defense contractors. Then transitioning later to specialty electronic CADD design for products used by the process control industry.

During his 23-year career at Lockheed Sanders, he met the love of his life, Cecelia (Bistany) Deschambault. They shared 46 years of marriage, celebrating every anniversary on Valentine’s Day — a true reflection of their devotion

Ray leaves behind 4 children: Diane A Deschambault of Bedford, NH, Mark A Deschambault Lehigh Acres, FL, Lynda A Deschambault, Moraga CA, and David A Deschambault of Green, ME. Ray was a loving stepfather to George, and he adored his grandchildren — Lauren, Dylan, Jeremy, Sydney (his beloved “boo boo”), Jessica, and Michael. He was also a great-grandfather to Micah, Michael Jr., and Avah.

Ray loved to cook (Best Clam Chowder!), fishing, working outdoors, puttering around the house, mowing the lawn on his ride-on tractor, snow blowing in the winter, trips to Zyla’s and the Dollar Store---and spending time in nature in any weather. He had a brilliant mechanical and technical mind, enjoyed deep conversations and storytelling, and was a devoted Boston Bruins fan. He adored all animals, especially cats and dogs, and was known for his sweet tooth — candy, ice cream, pie, Moxie, soda, and any kind of dip. A plate of fried smelts or a BLT at Goldenrod was one of his simple pleasures.

Ray was the patriarch of his family — strong, intelligent, loyal, expressive, and deeply loving. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
