Raymond W. Ennis Jr.

On Saturday, March 16th, Raymond William Ennis, Jr. loving and devoted father and friend, passed away at age 72. After a long and brave battle with his health, he is finally at peace in heaven and is surely spending time with the family and friends who have already departed this world.

Ray was born and raised in Littleton, New Hampshire and lived on property owned by his family since 1875. After several decades living and working in southern New Hampshire, Ray returned to Littleton in 2006 where he worked at New England Wire and then retired.

Nothing made Ray happier than spending time with his family and friends. While a man of few words, he enjoyed sitting quietly and listening to the sights and sounds unfold around him. One of his greatest joys was a rescue dog named Sadie, who he spoiled rotten for 14 years. A nature lover, who enjoyed hiking in his younger years, he loved to tend to a vegetable garden, flower beds, and spending time outdoors taking care of his beautifully manicured yard.

Ray was the kindest soul, selfless, and relentlessly hard working. He enjoyed his down time watching movies, even if he had already seen them dozens of times, and spending time with his cousin, Jim, and good friends Gary, Bruce, and Ann. His children were his pride and joy, supporting them without judgment and encouraging them to do what made them happy. Ray overcame multiple challenges throughout his life, including the death of his father at a very young age, but that never deterred him from living a full life with a positive outlook. He will be sorely missed by all of those who were fortunate to know and love him.

He is survived by his daughters, Heather and Ashley, his stepchildren, Eric, Jesse, and Kristy, his sister, Patty, and his cherished nieces and grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Pillsbury Funeral Home/ Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 101 Union Street, Littleton, NH. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to Above the Notch Humane Society, PO Box 98, Franconia, NH 03580 in loving memory of Ray Ennis.
