Raymond J. MacDonald, 61, of 6 Appleton Street, Pembroke, NH died on April 17, 2000 at his home after a long illness. Mr. MacDonald was born on April 12, 1939 in Rumford, ME, the son of the late James and Gladys (Day) MacDonald. He was a cell member for General Electric in Hooksett for 26 years.He was a member of the NH Association of Chiefs of Police, Sons of the American Legion , Squad 37 in Hooksett, and member of the Elks Lodge 146 in Manchester. He also volunteered for Disability Support at CMC, a program for stroke victims. Family members include;one daughter,Peggy A. Boyden of Concord; two grandsons, Eric Parenteau and Corey Parenteau of Northfield; two great grandsons; one brother, Frankie M. MacDonald of Maine; three sisters, Rosabelle Tifft, Sally Brown and Gladys McDonald all of Maine. He was predeceased by his wife, Fay (Binette) MacDonald in 1988. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 24, 2000 at 4:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, Pleasant Street, Concord, NH. A Committal Service is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2000 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Cemetery in Rumford, ME. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice VNA, 1850 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
