Raymond McIntire

Raymond E. McIntire, 84, of Dover died October 11, 2002 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover after a lengthy illness. Mr. McIntire was born on June 3, 1918 in Dover. He was son of the late Raymond N. and Letitia (Roy) McIntire. He was US Marine veteran who served during World War II and was a the Post Commander of the VFW in Dover. He was a planner and estimator at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he worked for 33 years. He then spent 12 years with Wentworth Douglas Hospital in the housekeeping department. He enjoyed gardening and read- ing and loved spending time with his family. Family members include; his wife of 62 years, Madeline (Bonneau) McIntire; one son, Alan E. McIntire of Somersworth, NH; two daughters, Marjorie Stephens of Dover and Susan Modeski of Dover; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Mazukaitis of Exeter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Roy McIntire, Donald McIntire and Robert McIntire and by two sisters, Edla Goodreau and Evelyn Cote. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, October 18th at 1:00 PM at St. Mary's Church on Chestnut Street in Dover with Father Fritz Cerullo, OSA officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Easter Seals, 230 West Monnroe Street, Suite 1800, Chicago, Illinois 60606.
