Raymond “Ray” Edwin Armstrong, age 70, beloved husband of Victoria (Centerrino) Armstrong, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 25, 2022, at home in Brookline, NH, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ray was born on July 11, 1951, to Norman and Marie (Ionetta) Armstrong in Saginaw, Michigan. While Ray was born in Michigan his most formative years were spent in Massachusetts where he enlisted and served our country as an engineman in the United States Coast Guard from 1970 to 1974. It is also where he met the love of his life, Vicki. Their young love blossomed, and they were wed on June 30, 1973, in Jonesville, VT. After completing his service with the United States Coast Guard, Ray spent much of his time working tirelessly to support his growing family as a heavy equipment mechanic. At the age of 62, Ray retired from Chadwick BaRoss, and was finally able to enjoy the life that he built for his family. Ray had a great fondness for all things outdoors, and in retirement he spent most of his time hunting, fishing, and four wheeling with his friends, family, and cherished dogs, Ryder, and Mr. T. He also loved spending time with Vicki, as they would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2022, and could often be found out on their motorcycles. Most of all Ray loved spending his free time laughing and playing with his children and grandchildren, whom he admired and adored.
Ray was predeceased by his father Norman Armstrong and grandson Brendan Armstrong.
He is survived by his loving wife Vicki; his mother Marie Armstrong; his daughters Marie Armstrong, Tasha Woods and her husband Matt, Marian Baldwin and her husband Daniel, Sabrina Croce and her husband David, as well as his beloved grandchildren; Alyssa Armstrong, Kayla Armstrong, Kyle and Colby Vancelette, Tyler and Savannah Baldwin, and Trevor, Cooper and Kortney Croce; his brothers; Norman and Ronald, and his sisters; Marian, Dorothy, Margaret, Angelina, and Brenda, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ray’s life on April 9, 2022, from 12:00PM to 5:00PM, at Princeton Station, 147 Princeton Street, No. Chelmsford, MA.
Ray’s family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time, and ask that in lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Lowell General Hospital Philanthropy Department. Donations can be made via mail to 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854 or online at https://www.lowellgeneral.org/about-us/ways-to-give/giving-opportunities/memorial-giving.
