Raymond Paul Senecal

Raymond “Ray” Senecal passed away peacefully at his home in Greenland, New Hampshire, on August 1, 2025.

Ray was raised in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1965. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts and later, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

After college, Ray joined the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He served as an officer on the Light Cargo Ship USS Mark, which carried supplies to remote outposts, and with Mobile Riverine Force combat support units throughout the Mekong Delta.

Ray spent his working career in corporate product development, sales, and marketing, and retired as Eastern Region Manager of General Electric’s Materials Division.

From an early age, Ray most enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, backpacker, runner, and skier. He shared many of those activities with Lois, his wife of 52 years, and their many dogs and cats (their “four-legged kids”). Their shared love of nature found a special home at their second house, a lakefront retreat on Maine’s Kezar Lake.

After retirement, Ray served as president of the Kezar Lake Watershed Association and as a board member of the Greater Lovell Land Trust. Based in Lovell, Maine, both organizations are dedicated to protecting and preserving the Kezar Lake area.

Grieving his loss are his wife, Lois; his brother-in-law, Bruce and wife Sheryl; nephews, Scott and wife Emily, David and wife Jill; nieces, Brie Anne, Sarah and husband Chris, Martha and husband Charlie; great-nephews, Colin, Owen, and Asa; and great-nieces, Sabine, Emersyn, and Ainsley.

ARRANGEMENTS: In the fall, Ray’s family will host a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Hampton. To view Ray's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit https://csnh.com.
