Reaney H. Fifield, 49, of 48 Marie Avenue, Nashua, died May 8, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, as a result of a house fire. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, April 9, 1954, the daughter of Charles W. Fifield, III and Anne (Calhoun) Fifield and had been a resident of Nashua for the past 15 years. Growing up in the country, Reaney loved the woods and all that nature had to offer. As had her mother, she became an accomplished equestrian and also pursued the fine arts. Always a straight A student, she graduated as valedictorian of her high school class and went on to study English literature and art at The University of N.H. Using her background in art, she did graphic design and layout work for several printing companies. Her love of plants and natural gardening abilities led her to a position as manager of a large New England nursery and garden center. Reaney loved working with and helping people. She always had kindness, patience and a good word to share with those around her. Although personal struggles led to some very difficult times for her, Reaney remained a conscientious and hard working person. She always tried to do the best job she could at whatever she took on. Even during these toughest of times in her life, friends and acquaintances would speak of her warmth, interest and caring. She always wanted to do more for others and would give whatever she had. She loved to laugh and recount funny stories of friends and family. She had a warm, beautiful smile. In addition to horses, she had a great love of all animals, especially her cats and Jackson, the dog she shared with her boyfriend, Dave. She was the best sister a brother could have and a loving daughter, girlfriend and friend. The tragedy of the loss of what might yet have been, will forever be cradled in our hearts by the sorrows and joys of what was. Family members include her parents of Mason, NH, two brothers; Craig W. Fifield of Stow, Ma., and Charles C. Fifield of Pennsylvania, one aunt, two uncles, three nephews and three cousins. Services will be private with the immediate family.
