Mrs. Regina M. Fossett, age 87, died after a brief illness at Northwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Varnum Ave. in Lowell at 4:15 a.m. on September 5, 2003. She was born on November 25, 1915. Regina suffered a stroke 2 weeks prior and died from complications. Regina had worked at St. John's Hospital as Kitchen Manager and Caterer in the 1970s. Until the time of her stroke, Regina was an active member of the Residents Society at Northwood. Regina was well known for her honky-tonk singing and entertaining at Northwood. Regina was an optimistic person who had a good word for everyone. Regina was a devoted, loving mother and best friend to her daughter Priscilla and son Jimmy. Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, love, and happiness. She was born in Medford, MA, the daughter of Wilfred and Annaeise LaPlante. She is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son. Mrs. Regina Naumnik of FL, Louise Ryan of KS, Mrs. Priscilla Clements of Raymond, NH and Mr. James Cooper of Tewksbury, MA. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. There will be no wake or service. In her memory, the family requests that in lieu of flowers or donations, each person should "Do what makes you happy." That quote comes directly from Regina. She would want you to celebrate her life.
