Rena Mae Romero-Hartigan, 58, of Milford, NH, passed away at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center on April 3, 2022. Born in Medford, MA on September 13, 1963, she was a daughter of the late Irene (Hellmann) and Frank Hutchinson. She shared 7 years of marriage with her loving husband, Daniel Hartigan.
Rena was raised in Derry, NH, attended the Adventist Christian School in her younger years, and graduated from Blue Mountain Academy in Pennsylvania. She earned her nursing degree from the Atlantic Union College in Lancaster, MA. Rena was the president, owner, and operator of Careride Wheelchair Transportation for over 27 years, and the business will continue through her son. A devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventists Church, Rena found great comfort in her faith and within the church community. When she wasn’t sharing her incredible faith with others, Rena loved being outdoors – especially hiking and fishing. Above all else, Rena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cherished time spent with her loved ones.
Rena is survived by her husband, Daniel Hartigan of Milford, NH; her sons, Brenton Forrester and wife Meriam of Milford, NH and Braighan Forrester of Milford, NH; her daughters, Monique Forrester of Goffstown, NH and Patrice Doherty of NH; her brothers, Richard Gross of Atlanta, GA, and Robert Hutchinson of Palmer, MA and his daughters Elizabeth and Ashley, Larry Shamer and Pam Norstrand of Milford, NH; her sister, Cathy Lewis and her husband Rod of Milford, NH; Daniel’s children, Carol Pepper and her husband Tim of Allenstown, NH, Danielle Hill and her husband Mike of Milford, NH, and Matthew Hartigan of Northfield, NH; as well as three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Rena's life will be held on Saturday, July 16th at 3pm at the Concord Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 310 Sheep Davis Road, Concord, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Mass General Cancer Center would be appreciated.
