Reta Jane Bason

December 4, 1951 — July 4, 2022

Lyndeborough

Reta Bason died peacefully on July 4, 2022 in the home that she and her husband built in Lyndeborough, over thirty years ago.  She was born on December 4, 1951 in Farmington, Maine to Sheila (Bennett) Trott and Milton Crosby, and she attended the Milford, NH schools, graduating in 1969.  For the last 22 years she was employed by Kimball Physics in Wilton.

Reta was a talented artist, noted particularly for her stained glass.  Her favored subjects were found in nature, and being an avid photographer, she amassed a library of thousands of images that she could use for her work.  Her love for plants could be seen in the variety of flowers and shrubs that filled the small yard of her home.

She was a friend to many, not only in her daily life but also on Facebook, where she shared items of nature and humor.  As a dedicated reader, she was informed on many topics.  A conversation with her was never boring!

Reta was always willing to help anyone for anything, and she was exceedingly generous.  If she thought there was something you would like she would find it and give it to you.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley “Butch” Bason; her stepdaughter Beth Lopes and husband Kevin Lopes of Wareham, MA; their three children: Kevin, Tyler and Aaron; and four great-grandchildren: Quinten, Hudson, Jordan and Ayva.  She is also survived by her brother Daniel Trott and his wife Diane of Amherst, NH, and her brother Robert Trott and his wife Carol.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Masonic Temple in Milford at a date to be announced.
