Richard Allen Barber, 54, passed away peacefully at home, on February 9, 2023, surrounded by his family. Richard was born in Syracuse, NY to Clyde and the late Kay (Butler) Barber.
Rick excelled in baseball as a youth and joined the Marines directly out of highschool. After his discharge, he met Sue at the wedding of a mutual friend. He went to school (UNH) for Education and spent several years subbing at schools in the southern New Hampshire area.
Those who will miss Rick most, knew he was a man of many talents. He was a musician, a juggler, and a foodie. He loved playing his ukulele or guitar, kayaking, or playing with his dogs. Richard was a prankster and a poet. He did not particularly enjoy hiking with his wife, but he always did it.
Richard was predeceased by his mother Kay Barber.
In addition to his father, Richard is survived by his beloved wife Susan; his children, Matthew Romano (Jazelle), Jayden Southwell (Stephanie), and Nicholas Barber (Julianna), and his cherished grandchildren, Lilianna and Francesca.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Tuesday February 14, 2023, from 1-2PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, located at 243 Hanover Street in Manchester, NH. A memorial service will take place at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mass General Cancer Center.
