R. Irving Buck, 74, of Pelham, NH died on November 16, 2002 at Northwood Nursing Home in Lowell after a brief illness. Mr. Buck was born on June 7, 1928 in Woburn, MA. He was the son of the late Roger and Ethel (Irving) Buck. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. He retired as a Staff Sargeant in 1952 from the 3530 Field Maintenance Squadron. He worked in the Air Force Reserves from 1953 until 1967 at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. He then spent the next 16 years working for the Pelham Post Office where he was a rural carrier until his final retirement in 1983. Mr. Buck enjoyed old cars and World War II fighter planes. Family members include; his wife, Marilyn Buck; one son, William S. Buck of Tyngsboro, MA; two daughters, Nancy E. Vachon of Pelham and Melanie S. Petren of Mississippi; eight grandchildren; one sister, Marion Buck of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Buck was predeceased by his first wife, Deborah (Motschman) Buck and by a daughter, Linda Ann Buck. He was also predeceased by a brother, William Buck and two sisters Florence Buck and Janice Gonerowsky. There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, November 25th at 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church on Main Street in Pelham. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington, MA at 1:00 PM.
