Richard Francis Cloutier

Richard Francis Cloutier, 77, died on March 10, 2004 in Palm Bay, Florida while traveling with relatives. He was born to Laura Rochon and Joseph Cloutier on September 20, 1926 in Lawrence, MA. Dick was raised on a farm in Burke Hollow, Vt. He served in the US Navy from 1944 – 1946 as an Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class. He then went to the University of Vermont on the GI bill where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Commerce and Economics in 1951. His employment was in the field of engineering and management, in particular Industrial Engineering, where he worked for various firms such as Spague Electric, Davol, Inc. Fenwal Electronics, Bellofram and eventually his own firm, Windham Engineering of Windham, NH. After retiring from Windham Engineering he started the North Conway SCORE chapter. Dick worked to support his habit of traveling and skiing. Dick had traveled to every continent and to many countries. He loved to see and experience people in their own countries and cultures. Skiing brought him to such places as Switzerland, Austria and New Zealand. Though he loved to travel his home slopes were at Attitash in Bartlett, NH where he was a lifetime pass holder. He called Glen, NH his home, even though he was truly at home when he was with friends. Dick leaves his longtime friend and companion Bea Cabot of Sudbury; MA, his sisters Blanche Cloutier of Danville, NH and Anna Beaudoin of Pelham, NH; his Niece Theresa Cooper of Danville, NH; nephew, Henri Beaudoin of Melbourne, FL; and countless numbers of friends around the world. There will be a “celebration of life” at the Eagle Mountain House, Jackson, and NH on April 3rd, 2004 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm. All who knew him are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 5001, North Conway, NH.
