Richard Charles Douglas, 68, of Manchester passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2017.
He was born in Manchester, NH on March 28, 1949 to James C. and Florette H. (Roux) Douglass.
He worked as a mechanic all his life. He is a loving father of two daughters, Taressa O'Neill and Sharon Say. He is also a grandfather to four grandchildren Hallee Corrinne O'Neill, Jason Daniel O'Neill Jr, Destiney Star Say, and Savannah Sky Say.
He is a Vietnam War Navy Veteran on the Bonhomme Richard Aircraft Carrier. Richard (aka Doc, aka Big Rick) was a board member of the American Legion Post 79 in Manchester, NH. He is most known for his strong faith, humor, infectious laugh, and kind heart. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved being on his motorcycle where he felt true freedom. The phrase "Live Free or Die" is one he certainly lived by. He was so light hearted, full of positivity and laughter. To know him is to love him. He is a true hero and will be incredibly missed.
Other members of his family include Alberta Dallaire; his sisters, Shirley Helen Tancrede, Elaine Dallaire, Jeannine Kilbride, Patti Young, Paula Douglass; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services: A Committal Service will be held at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rt. 3, Boscawen on Tuesday, December 12, at 12:00P.M. Followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00P.M. at the American Legion Post 79, 35 West Brook St, Manchester NH.
