Richard Duchesne, 71, died Monday April 23, 2007 at Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Associations Hospice House after a long battle with cancer. Born on January 2, 1936, in Detroit, MI, Dick was the son of the late Stanley and Natalie Duchesne. He moved to the Lakes Region of NH in the late 1940s. A Navy veteran, he is a graduate of Newfound Regional High School and Plymouth State Teachers College. He worked as a teacher and coach before changing careers to work in various businesses, including Rumford Press in Concord. He coached Little League Baseball for many years. Dicks greatest joy was spending time with his family. He also had a passion for fishing, reading and listening to classical music. He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle (Duchesne) Plunkett, wife of Michael Plunkett, in 1998. Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Suzanne, of Concord, NH; son Douglas and his wife Karin of Nashua, NH; son David and his wife Cathy of Amherst, NH; daughter Andrea (Duchesne) Gott and her husband Eric of Keene, NH; and son Stan and his wife Ashley of Hendersonville, NC. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Caitlin and Cameron Plunkett of Fairfax, VA; Danielle, Rebecca and Monique Duchesne of Nashua, NH; Elizabeth Duchesne of Amherst, NH; Sam and Eric Chisholm of Keene, NH; and Madeline and Jackson Duchesne of Hendersonville, NC. His Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 at followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St, Manchester. Interment will follow at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord RVNA Hospice House, P.O Box 1979, Concord 03302.
