Richard L. Gay

Richard L. Gay, 67, of Milford, NH, died January 22, 2004, after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson¹s Disease. He was the husband of Patricia D. (Hebert) Gay, and the son of the late Edward and Jeanne (Raymond) Gay of Brookline, NH. Those who knew Richard, knew a generous man who cared for his family more than himself. He was a die-hard Red Sox fan, enjoyed the beach, animals, gardening, family get-togethers and travel with his wife and mother and father-in-law. Watching his children and grandchildren were his favorite past-time. Gay worked for Coca-Cola and more recently, A.B. Dick of Nashua, NH. He was a 1956 graduate of Nashua High School, and served in the National Guard. Besides his wife, he leaves 3 sons and daughter-in-laws, Rick and Betsy Gay of Manchester, NH, Scott and Kelley Gay of Raleigh, NC, Brian and Christine Gay of Merrimack, NH, and one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Bill Sherman of Merrimack, NH. He leaves 9 grandchildren, and best friends, his mother and father-in-law, Irene and Donald Sawyer of Milford, NH. Predeceased by a brother, Edward Gay, he leaves a younger brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Caroline Gay of Brookline, NH. And two sisters and brother-in-laws, Gerald and Ruth Hubbard of Lynn, MA , and Joseph and Jeanne Corey of Florida. Wishes were for a private family service on January 24th. There were no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family hopes for donations in Richard¹s name be sent to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163, or given online at www.michaeljfox.org.
