Richard Allen Giberson

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Richard Allen Giberson, who entered eternal rest on December 7^th, 2023, surrounded by his loving ‘family friends’ at his home in Manchester, NH.

Richard was born in Concord, NH on July 2^nd, 1952, and passed after battling cancer at age 71. His daily mantra was “Thank you Lord for Today.”

He once stated, “I’m trying to do a few things before I die and I’m trying to live as long as I can, that’s what the chemo is all about.” And he did that indeed. He fought until the very end.

Richard had faith in humanity. He treated everyone he met with kindness and a level of respect like no other. No judgment, once you met him, he would always be there for you.

He spent most of his time with his church, his close friends, and his love: his dog Oliver. He took care of most, whether making himself available to talk or assisting others to the best of his ability. You could always count on him.

Afterglow: ‘I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.’

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in United Methodist Church, 961 Valley Street, Manchester,  Saturday, January 6th at 10:00 AM. All are invited to a reception following the service in the Fellowship Hall downstairs. Gifts in honor of Rick are being collected for a tree memorial.
