Richard L. Guay of Stoddard, NH died August 22, 2021, on his 63rd birthday, following a hard-fought battle with kidney disease.
Richard was born August 22, 1958, to Raymond and Beatrice (Bennett) Guay. He joined the military in 1978 and proudly served his country with the US Army until his honorable discharge in 1982. He enjoyed physical jobs that kept him busy and allowed him to work with his hands, most recently working as a machinist with Hexaport International. Richard also spent a great deal of time outdoors hunting, hiking, fishing, camping, and exploring in the White Mountains. Richard was often involved in multiple projects in and around his home, but he was never too busy to lend a hand to a friend, always happy to share his time, knowledge, and skill with someone who needed him.
Richard is survived by his sons, Christopher Guay of Keene, and Kyle Guay and partner, Jacquelynn O’Leary of Hillsboro. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rebecca Chickering and husband Bill, Brenda Thomas, Roberta Lussier and husband Ivan, Roxann Drew, Bernadine Mercier and husband Roger, Russell Quinn and wife Mary, Robert Guay and wife Sue; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to gather at 12:30pm Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Cremaiton Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street in Boscawen. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 in the funeral home chapel, followed immediately by burial with military honors at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
