Richard Hemphill

CORNISH - Richard M. Hemphill, 74, died October 13, 2000, at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born on July 14, 1926, in Boston, MA. The son of James Allen Hemphill and Dorothy Marquis Hemphill, who originated from PEI Canada, and raised their four children, Jack, James, Ruth and Richard in Dorchester, MA, later in Quincy, MA Richard worked as a Carpenter, He was a veteran and served in the Merchant Marines. On September 26, 1948, he married Phyllis M. Milliken of Wollaston, MA. Together they raised four children while living in Weymouth, MA and also in California. Members of his surviving family include; His Brother Jack Hemphill, of Hyannis, MA, Richard's wife Phyllis Hemphill, of Cornish, NH, His four children, Richard M. Hemphill Jr., Cornish, NH, Debbie Puopolo of Weymouth, MA, Sandra Ruffini of Cornish, NH, and Thomas Hemphill of Cornish, NH. And four Grandchildren; Rene Puopolo, Rachel Puopolo, both of Weymouth MA Sarah Ruffini of Cornish, NH, & Marissa Ruffini also of Cornish, NH.
