Richard Thomas Lacasse, 67, of Hampstead NH, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 with his loving family by his side after a 20-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born in Lawrence, MA, on June 17, 1949 to Edward R. Lacasse and Louise (Drouin) (Lacasse) Waters. He grew up in South Lawrence, MA, delivered the Eagle Tribune with his brothers, attended Lawrence High School and Northern Essex Community College.
He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Fettes.
In 1969 at the age of 19, Dick and Nancy signed a purchase and sale agreement to purchase 3 Mister Donut franchises: North Andover, Methuen and Haverhill. They had to wait until Dick's 21st birthday to pass papers. He served as President on the Mister Donut Northeast Advisory Council for several years.
Dick and his family owned, built or managed other Mr. Donut shops from Beverly MA to Sanford ME. He worked for Mr. Donut of America in their Development Division. He had many building projects in the late 1980s. He also operated Baker's Dozen and Riley's Roast Beef in Lawrence MA in the early 1990s.
Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, and occasionally traveling to Foxwoods.
Dick is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Nancy Fettes Lacasse. His children Lisa Lacasse, Brian Lacasse (Tanya), Kristen Sanders (Dale), and Adam Lacasse. His grandchildren: Aidan, Megan, Jacob, William, Addison and Austin. His sister, Anne Hollow (Tom) and brothers: Ray (Tresha), Michael (Debbie) and Tom Lacasse. He is also survived by his step-mother Velma LeBel, half-brother Tim Lacasse, step-brother Michael Pratt and step-sister Terri Lavoie and many nieces and nephews and friends.
A burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Hampstead NH at a future date.
