Richard H. Moen

Richard H. Moen, 62, of 516 Rand Pond Road, Goshen, NH died May 13, 2001, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital, Lebanon, NH after a short illness. He was born in Neptune, New Jersey on August 3, 1938, the son of the late Dirk and Elise (Grander) Moen and resided most of his life in Shark River Hills Neptune, NJ, before moving to Goshen nine years ago. Richard retired from Bell Atlantic in Neptune, NJ after 36 years of service. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He coached basketball, baseball and soccer. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout, Scout Master and a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In the Town of Goshen, Mr. Moen was a supervisor of the checklist for voting, a member of the Goshen Conservation Commission, Rand Pond Protective Association and the Twin Ridge Mountaineer Snowmobile Club. Mr. Moen was also a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a representative for Country Log Homes. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, snowmobiling, camping, being in the woods, building a log home, his family and being a Grandfather (Pa). Family members include his wife of 38 years, Cathy (Case) Moen of Goshen, NH, four sons, Richard W. Moen of Goshen, NH, David Moen and his wife Janette and their two children Allison and Elizabeth Moen all of Shark River Hills Neptune, N.J., Chris Moen of Goshen, NH, and Mike Moen and his girlfriend Karen of Parlin, N.J., three sisters, Nancy Holmes of Shaftsbury, Vermont, Carolyn Boud of Neptune City, N.J., and Janet Zatta of Caldwell, N.J., several nieces, nephews, cousins and his walking buddies Turbo and Winchester. SERVICES: On Saturday, June 16, 2001, funeral services will be held at 12 o'clock noon at the Goshen Community Church with The Reverend Louis Lubrano, officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Mill Village Cemetery in Goshen, NH. A Party to celebrate his life will be held after at his home. Bring your bathing suits, towels and chairs. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Goshen Conservation Commission (Rand Pond Beach Bridge Fund) RT 10, Goshen, NH 03752. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
