Richard E. "Dick" Powers

Richard E. “Dick” Powers, 94, passed away June 3, 2022 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Formerly of Bedford, MA.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Lou Powers whom he was married to for 65 years.

One of his greatest joys was traveling cross country with Mary Lou in their RV, exploring new places and always making lasting friendships.  The road was their second home.  Dick was a loving father to his daughter Jody and her husband Peter Capalbo of Cumberland, Rhode Island and son James Powers and his spouse Christine Carlson of Kittery Maine.  Puppa adored and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren Nicholas, Michael, Jamie, Corey and his great grandson Kayden. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and innumerable friends. 

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Powers Trucking for over 50 years.  Dick had a wonderful sense of humor and was always quick with a story or joke.  Dick followed a life well lived and one can say that he thoroughly enjoyed and embraced every day of it.  Dick was an extraordinary man and his absence will be profoundly felt by those who knew and loved him.  Our worlds will never be the same without him.

Dick was not a conventional man, so a traditional service would not due him justice.  Instead, the family and friends will gather at a later date, still to be determined, to celebrate his life. Burial will be private.
