Richard C Reed

On Thursday, November 25th, 2021 Richard Reed, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 57 in the company of family.

Richard was born in Hartford, CT on June 24,1964 to Philip and Shirley Reed. He grew up in Litchfield, NH and graduated from Alvirne High School in Hudson, NH. He received his degree in mechanical engineering from New Hampshire Technical Institute. Rich worked all over the world doing what he loved providing commissioning and cleaning services in the power industry. He was a mentor to many and stayed connected to those he worked with over the years. At the time of his death, he was the owner of Reed Industrial Services, and was also working with Elden Consulting Services.

Richard married Lisa (Lafond) on May 6, 1989. They raised their family in Bedford, NH. He was the proud father of Emily and Christian and would be the first to share stories of their accomplishments or drop a dad joke or two. He was dog-dad to Bailey and dog-grampy to Chance and Declan. Rich was the anchor of the Reed-Lafond family.

Over the years, Rich enjoyed many activities and volunteer opportunities including kayaking, fishing, ski patrol, emergency rescue services and leading trips to West Virginia to support the Appalachia Service Project. He devoted endless hours to the Bedford Jr Bulldogs youth football organization and Bedford Little League. Rich was the first to lend a hand to anyone in need, asking for nothing in return.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Philip Reed. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, his children Emily and Christian, his mother Shirley, his brother David Reed and his wife Renee and his beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews. He had countless friends who will also miss him terribly.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
