Richard Turmelle

Richard R. Turmelle, 62, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Rochester, NH, passed away in the comfort of his summer home in Rochester on Sunday, June 8, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Rochester, NH on Dec. 1, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Osgood) Turmelle. Raised and educated in Rochester, Richard was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1970 and attended Plymouth State College. Rick had been employed at General Electric in Somersworth for 23 years.

A devoted husband and father, Rick was the pillar of strength for his family. He loved music and played the drums in a few different bands. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all, he relished the time spent with this grandson, Logan. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be deeply missed.

Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela (Bragdon) Turmelle; daughter, Darcy Turmelle; grandson, Logan; sister, Carolyn (Turmelle) Pittman and husband Peter; half-brother, Ronald Turmelle; niece, Rebecca Hatch; and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Rich was predeceased by his son, Justin Turmelle.

ARRANGEMENTS: As requested by Rick, there will be no calling hours or services. He would like to thank all his doctors and nurses at Cornerstone VNA and Hospice, Dr. Cicillo of Dorier Caner Center, and Karen Silver of Sarasota Cancer Center. Thank you for all the care and support during Rick's battle with lung cancer.
